SUSTAINABILITY POLICY OF UNIVERSITAS MULTIMEDIA NUSANTARA
NO.: 1029/SK-R/XI/2025

FIRST:
To establish the Sustainability Policy of Universitas Multimedia Nusantara as a strategic guideline in the implementation of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, Institutional Governance, Campus Operations, and External Partnerships.

SECOND:
The sustainability policy as referred to in the First Dictum aims to:
a. Position sustainability as a principle in institutional decision-making;
b. Integrate environmental, social, and economic (financial) dimensions into all activities within Universitas Multimedia Nusantara;
c. Provide a framework for the implementation of sustainability across all work units;
d. Ensure accountability through monitoring systems and periodic reporting.

THIRD:
The scope of this policy includes all university activities covering the following areas:
a. Education and curriculum;
b. Research and innovation;
c. Community service;
d. Campus operations;
e. Partnerships and collaboration;
f. Institutional governance.

FOURTH:
The principles for implementing the sustainability policy include:
a. Integration of environmental, social, and economic dimensions;
b. Intergenerational responsibility;
c. Resource efficiency and environmental impact prevention;
d. Inclusivity and social equity;
e. Transparency and accountability;
f. Multi-stakeholder collaboration;
g. Science-based innovation.

FIFTH:
UMN is committed to implementing the sustainability policy through:

a. Education
Integration of sustainability concepts into the curriculum, strengthening students’ green skills competencies, and developing project-based sustainability learning.

b. Research and Innovation
Prioritizing research that contributes to sustainability solutions, cross-sector collaboration, and the development of environmentally friendly innovations and publications that contribute to knowledge on achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

c. Campus Operations
Gradual reduction of institutional carbon emissions, energy and water efficiency, waste management, sustainable procurement, support for low-emission transportation, and the implementation of other sustainable campus operations.

d. Community Service
Implementation of sustainability-based community empowerment programs and strategic partnerships with government, industry, and communities.

e. Governance
Integration of sustainability indicators into institutional strategic planning, setting measurable targets, and alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals and national as well as global sustainability standards.

SIXTH:
The implementation of this policy shall be coordinated by the unit responsible for institutional sustainability and carried out by all faculties and work units within UMN in accordance with their respective duties and functions.

SEVENTH:
Each work unit within UMN is required to develop a sustainability action plan and report the achievement of indicators periodically to the University Leadership through the Sustainability Coordinator unit.

EIGHTH:
Monitoring and evaluation of policy implementation shall be conducted at least once a year, and the results shall be used as the basis for continuous improvement of the institution’s sustainability performance.
