Dr. Rista Ihwanny, S.Hum, M.Si

Rista Ihwanny is a lecturer and researcher in the Film Department and the Master of Design Program. Before dedicating herself as a full-time academic, she began  her career as an independent researcher. Her early academic interest was in European culture, which led her to pursue German Studies at the undergraduate level and European Studies at the graduate level. She later continued her doctoral studies in Cultural Studies. All of her academic training was completed at Universitas Indonesia, where she was awarded research scholarships in Germany and Italy to conduct field studies. Her areas of expertise include Art History, Cultural Studies, European Studies, and Film Studies. Her research primarily focuses on cultural and artistic practices, with a strong emphasis on critical and interdisciplinary approaches. Currently, she teaches Research Methodology and Academic Writing and Presentation in the Film Department, as well as Design Seminar and Publication in the Master of Design Program.
