Jakarta, February 12, 2026 — Universitas Multimedia Nusantara (UMN) officially launched its Doctoral Program in Technology Management at Menara Kompas, Palmerah. The launch event was attended by the Kompas Gramedia Board of Directors, UMN rectorate leaders, faculty leaders, and guests. The launch of this program is a concrete step by UMN to strengthen its contribution to the development of sustainable higher education in Indonesia.
The launch of the Doctor of Technology Management (DTM) (Doktor Manajemen Teknologi/DMT) program marks a new chapter in UMN’s journey in responding to global challenges, the 4.0 industrial revolution, and Society 5.0. Through the DTM program, UMN will not only produce doctors but also thought leaders grounded in sustainable, impactful, technology-based principles.
UMN Rector, Dr. Andrey Andoko, expressed his gratitude and pride for the realization of the Doctor of Technology Management Program as part of UMN’s long-term roadmap for strengthening research. According to him, the presence of this program is not merely an addition to the academic level, but a strategic step in building a superior higher education ecosystem that is adaptive to the times and globally competitive.
On this occasion, Andrey also explained the DTM Program’s strategic role within UMN’s long-term academic development plan.

“As a university, the DTM program is one of UMN’s long-term plans. This program combines management science and technology science, not technically, of course, but looking at the current perspective of technology that is growing rapidly, one of which is Artificial Intelligence (AI),” Andrey explained.
In addition to responding to global needs, the UMN DTM Program will focus on research, as Andrey explained: “Excellent Education With Strong Research.” In the future, this program will produce sustainable, international-level research that benefits society, industry, and public policy.
“By enrolling in the Doctor of Technology Management program, students will not only produce impactful research, but also directly hone their analytical skills, conceptual thinking, professional skills, and most importantly, become lifelong learners,” he added.
Andrey hopes that, with the launch of the Doctor of Technology Management program, UMN can have a broad impact on society through research and study. Additionally, Andrey also hopes that prospective students will eventually occupy key positions in both the private sector and government, and implement beneficial strategies.

The Advantages of the UMN Doctor of Technology Management Program
The UMN DTM program has various advantages. From an academic perspective, this program is designed to integrate Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) into technology management. In addition, DTM learning uses various technologies, including AI, the Internet of Things (IoT), and blockchain.
Regarding these advantages, Prof. Dr Friska Natalia, S.Kom., M.T., Vice Rector for Academic and International Affairs at UMN, emphasised that an interdisciplinary approach is the program’s main strength.

“The excellence of the UMN DTM program lies in its interdisciplinary approach that combines strategic management, digital technology, and sustainability principles in an integrated manner. Through this program, we want to produce competent doctors who have critical and analytical thinking skills and are able to face global challenges,” she explained.
In addition, Friska also explained how the DTM program is a strategic effort by UMN to enhance its reputation and competitiveness at the national and international levels. Through this program, UMN opens up opportunities for research collaboration and more global academic recognition.
“Hopefully, the DTM program can become a driving force for innovation and contribute to sustainable development through research that has a positive impact on society. In addition, this program is expected to expand cooperation networks with various institutions and enhance reputation and competitiveness at the national and international levels,” she added.
Dr Prio Utomo, Dean of the UMN Faculty of Business, emphasised that the learning process in the UMN DTM Program not only guides students in taking courses and thinking about their dissertations, but also assists them in formulating their research from the very beginning.

“In the future, this program will encourage dialogue between students, lecturers, and practitioners. Student research will also address issues in the business world, companies, and society. Through this learning system, the research produced will be truly relevant and impactful,” Prio explained.
Academically and in terms of curriculum, the UMN DTM program will emphasize two things, namely, research acumen in terms of problem formulation, originality, relevance, and, of course, the ability to manage research in the context of technology management, digital transformation, and ESG principles.
“We want to produce doctoral graduates who are mature in their way of thinking and attitude towards their knowledge. Not only are they able to write and publish research, but they are also able to explain, defend, and implement research results in a broader space, whether for policy, business models, or new innovations,” Prio added.
Prio hopes that in the future, the DTM Program will not only be widely recognized but also known for its quality, approach to thinking, and rigorous research methods. It is hoped that through the DTM Program, research that supports Indonesia Maju 2045 will emerge.
