Tangerang, (05/02/2026) – Universitas Multimedia Nusantara (UMN) recently welcomed a visit from Lac Hong University in Vietnam to discuss collaboration opportunities. The visit aimed to explore various collaboration opportunities between UMN and Lac Hong University, involving four faculties at UMN.
Lac Hong University is a private university established in 1997 in Dong Nai Province, Vietnam. Lac Hong University is known for its active involvement in research development, innovation, and various international university collaborations. This is a good opportunity for UMN to continue expanding its network of university partners.
“The collaboration between UMN and Lac Hong University is strategic. We focus on conducting research collaboration with international standards and publish research in Scopus every year. I think this is a good opportunity for Lac Hong University and UMN,” Assoc. Prof. Dr. Lam Thanh Hien, Rector of Lac Hong University, said.
Furthermore, Lam also explained various research areas, including sustainability, Environment, Social, and Governance (ESG), biomedical, engineering, management, and other topics that align with UMN.
“Apart from research, we are also open to other collaborations, such as student exchanges and international competition collaborations. Lac Hong University itself pays close attention to international competitions, as this can develop students’ abilities in the future,” Lam added.
Responding to the discussion, Dr. Ika Yanuarti, S.E., M.S.F, CSA., as Vice Rector for Student Affairs, said that she is also open to international competitions. The competition itself can cover topics such as IT, management, and future innovations.
“In addition to international competitions, we also initiate collaborations for student internships. In this collaboration, it is hoped that UMN will send a number of its students to participate in and complete internships at Vietnamese companies that have collaborated with Lac Hong University. Of course, this collaboration also applies vice versa,” Ika explained.
In response to collaboration in the field of research, Prof. Dr. Florentina Kurniasari T., S.Sos., M.B.A., as Vice Rector for Research, Innovation and Sustainability, expressed a similar view. For Sari, collaboration in the field of research is strategic, considering the broad scope of UMN’s research.
“Of course, in the future, the sciences and research interests will be aligned between UMN and Lac Hong University. In addition, this collaboration is expected to bring together respective university partners, so that research is not only published by the two universities but also by various other international universities,” Sari said.
The collaboration between UMN and Lac Hong University is expected to benefit both universities. Furthermore, this collaboration is expected to lead to additional programs, including student and lecturer exchanges, student mobility, and other areas of collaboration in the future.
