Confidentiality of the Whistleblowers
UMN formally establishes its Internal Reporting System through Decree No. 681/SK-R/XII/2024 concerning the Whistleblowing System, providing a structured and confidential mechanism for both students and staff to report violations, misconduct, or unethical behavior. This rectoral decree upholds principles of equality, fairness, and confidentiality while promoting a safe and inclusive academic and work environment, free from corruption, collusion, and nepotism. The system reflects UMN’s commitment to integrity, accountability, and the protection of its university community.
The reporting framework is designed to ensure confidentiality and protect whistleblowers from any form of retaliation, including threats, intimidation, or academic and employment disadvantages such as reassignment, demotion, salary reduction, or structural discrimination. The system accommodates all members of the academic community without discrimination based on gender, sexual orientation, or other personal characteristics, and integrates clear procedures for follow-up and accountability.
