What is DMT – Doctor in Management of Technology?

The Doctor of Technology Management (DMT) Program at Universitas Multimedia Nusantara is designed for professionals and academics who seek to deepen their expertise and advance research in technology management, innovation, and digital transformation. The program prepares students to become researchers and scholars capable of producing original research and contributing meaningfully to the development of knowledge, industry practices, and public policy.

The Doctoral Program in Technology Management (DMT) at Universitas Multimedia Nusantara is a multidisciplinary field of study developed through collaboration between the Faculty of Business, Faculty of Information and Communication Technology, and Faculty of Communication.

The curriculum is designed through close collaboration with industry partners, positioning the program within the applied and research-based domain of technology management. The doctoral program is completed over six (6) semesters with a total academic load of 45 credits.

Entry Requirement

Doctor of Technology Management (DMT) – UMN

ACADEMIC REQUIREMENTS

Applicants must hold a Master’s degree (S2) from an accredited study program (minimum accreditation: B / “Good”).
Graduates from overseas universities are required to submit an official degree equivalency certificate issued by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia.
Minimum cumulative GPA for the Master’s degree: 3.00.

STANDARDIZED TESTS

Minimum Academic Potential Test (TPA) score of 500, issued by a recognized institution such as Bappenas TPA (OTO Bappenas), TKA (Indonesian Psychological Association), or UMN internal test.
Minimum English proficiency score: TOEFL 500 or IELTS 6.0, valid within the last 2 years.

RESEARCH PORTFOLIO

Preliminary Dissertation Proposal: A 10–15 page document consisting of:
- Research Background,
- Problem Statement (Research Gap),
- Research Methodology, and
- Brief Literature Review.
The proposal must demonstrate originality and alignment with the research focus areas defined by Universitas Multimedia Nusantara.
Statement of Purpose: A motivation essay explaining the applicant’s reasons for pursuing doctoral studies, post-study career plans, and reasons for choosing UMN.
Publication Record (Optional but recommended): Prior publications in national or international journals or conference proceedings will be considered a significant advantage.

ADMINISTRATIVE REQUIREMENTS

Work Experience (for applicants with professional backgrounds): A minimum of 5 years of managerial experience.
Letters of Recommendation: At least two recommendation letters from academic referees (former Master’s supervisors or doctorate-holding academics) or professional referees (Directors/Commissioners or equivalent) who can assess the applicant’s intellectual capacity.
Study Permit Letter: Applicants who are currently employed as lecturers or staff members must submit an official study permit from their home institution.

Graduates of the Doctor of Technology Management Program at Universitas Multimedia Nusantara have opportunities to further their academic and professional development through post-doctoral research, national and international research collaborations, as well as strategic roles in policy development, innovation, and technology-driven organizational transformation.

Graduates may also pursue careers as academics, researchers, consultants, and strategic decision-makers in higher education institutions, industry, government agencies, and global organizations.

Pertemuan Bimbingan Akademik

Mahasiswa diharuskan untuk mengikuti bimbingan akademik minimal 3 kali per semester. Jadwal bimbingan akademik akan diberikan oleh dosen pembimbing akademik masing-masing. Buku bimbingan akademik harus dibawa pada saat melakukan bimbingan akademik dan harus ditandatangani oleh dosen pembimbing akademik.

Continuing Education Department (CED) adalah program pengembangan pendidikan di Universitas Multimedia Nusantara (UMN) yang merupakan bagian dari Grup Kompas Gramedia. Informasi Tugas Akhir

Untuk menyelesaikan jenjang pendidikan Program Sarjana Strata-2 (S-2) di Universitas Multimedia Nusantara, mahasiswa harus menyusun, mempresentasikan, dan mempertahankan tugas akhir, di hadapan dewan penguji tugas akhir, sesuai dengan ketentuan program studi. Penyusunan tugas akhir dilakukan secara perorangan dan dibimbing oleh dosen pembimbing yang dapat dipilih langsung oleh mahasiswa dengan persetujuan dosen pembimbing tersebut.
