Tangerang, (03/02/2026) – In an effort to expand its international network, Universitas Multimedia Nusantara (UMN) continues to open opportunities for collaboration with universities worldwide. This time, UMN has established a partnership with Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH), Vietnam.
Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH) is a university in Vietnam, established in 1995 with a global academic focus. This focus is in line with UMN’s vision of building an international academic environment. UMN itself has formalized its collaboration with HUTECH since 2025 to strengthen academic cooperation and internationalization.
“For me, this collaboration can strengthen the relationship between UMN and HUTECH, and of course, there are many strategic things that can be implemented together. Through this collaboration, we can also strengthen academics at UMN, both for lecturers and students in the future,” said UMN Rector, Dr. Andrey Andoko.
For Andrey, this collaboration is not merely to expand UMN’s university partners but also to provide mutual benefits for both parties. In addition, this collaboration is expected to support UMN in becoming a world-class university.
“It is a pleasure to visit and discuss further the collaboration with UMN. We ourselves, together with UMN, have discussed various programs to collaborate on, ranging from visiting professors, research collaboration, to international conferences,” explained Dr. Ly Thien Trang, Vice President of HUTECH, Vietnam, who was also present during this visit.
Ly herself initiated various collaborations that can be carried out together, ranging from international competitions in the fields of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Information Technology to the closest one: a visiting professorship from one of UMN’s lecturers. Ly is also interested in various UMN student mobility programs and hopes that HUTECH students can participate in these programs in the future.
“This collaboration program is not limited to Engineering and Informatics, but can also be collaborated with various other fields of study, ranging from communication, management, and various other fields,” she added.
During the discussion, Prof. Dr. Friska Natalia, S.Kom., M.T., Vice Rector for Academic and International Affairs, also mentioned additional collaborations to explore, including research, student exchange, student mobility, and other initiatives.
“We ourselves have visited HUTECH, Vietnam and discussed various collaborations that we hope can be implemented soon. The closest and most feasible collaborations are visiting professors and international conferences, which we hope will take place in the future. This collaboration program can be very broad and mutually beneficial for both UMN and HUTECH,” explained Friska.
Dr. Ika Yanuarti, S.E., M.S.F, CSA., as Vice Rector for Student Affairs, expressed her interest in international competitions. For Ika, this collaboration could attract UMN students, given that UMN has held several similar collaborations.
“In addition to international competitions, internship programs could also be something we do together. In my opinion, this could be a good opportunity to prepare UMN students for their careers, and of course, students also need these internship programs,” she added.
Adding to the discussion, Prof. Dr. Florentina Kurniasari T., S.Sos., M.B.A., as Vice Rector for Research, Innovation and Sustainability, also expressed her agreement and interest in conducting research collaborations with international standards. Of course, the scope of research topics can vary, and they can still produce outputs that are expected to have an impact on the wider community.
“For me, there are many research ideas that can be done together, ranging from engineering, marketing, to other hot topics such as sustainability. For the nearest collaboration, one of the UMN lecturers will become a visiting professor later. Through this visiting professor program, it is hoped that research collaboration can be established well,” said Sari.
The collaboration between UMN and HUTECH in Vietnam is expected to have a positive and sustainable impact. Not only will it strengthen relations among universities, but it will also enhance UMN’s competitiveness globally.
