Dr. Ignatius Haryanto Djoewanto, S.Sos, M.Hum.

Graduated from the Department of Communication Science, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, University of Indonesia, holds a master’s degree in philosophy from the Driyarkara School of Philosophy, and is currently completing his doctoral studies in the field of Communication science at the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, University of Indonesia.

Between 1994 and 2003, he worked as a journalist for a number of news magazines, including the Forum for Justice Magazine, D&R, and Tempo Magazine. He also founded the Institute for Press and Development Studies (LSPP) in 1994 and became Executive Director in 2007–2014.

Haryanto has also been a member of the Alliance of Independent Journalists since 1995 and, now, a member of the AJI Jakarta Ethics Council since 2015. He has also been a member of the Kompas Daily Ombudsman since 2008. He wrote and edited dozens of books on journalism, philosophy, and social politics. Haryanto is also one of the reviewers for Journal Media Asia, based in Manila, Philippines.

He has been a member of the teaching staff at the Journalism Study Program, Faculty of Communication Sciences, Multimedia Nusantara University, since 2007, when he also became a member of the Remotivi Advisory Board and Chair of the PPMN Association Board (Association of Nusantara Media Development).
