Diversity, Honesty, Respect, and Fairness
Universitas Multimedia Nusantara (UMN) maintains publicly available regulations that establish clear ethical values, including diversity, honesty, respect, and fairness. These values are primarily governed under Rector’s Decree No. 684/SK-R/XII/2024 on the Implementation of Inclusivity Values at Universitas Multimedia Nusantara, based on Gender, Disability, and Social Inclusion (GEDSI) principles.
The Inclusiveness Policy ensures that education, research, community service, and institutional services in all university units are delivered equitably to faculty, staff, and students without discrimination based on ethnicity, religion, gender identity, disability, special needs, or nationality. By embedding these ethical values, the policy promotes equal opportunity, accessibility, social inclusion, transparency, accountability, and good governance throughout academic and administrative processes.
The policy reinforced in Chapter XI of the Company Regulation of Yayasan Multimedia Nusantara, ensuring governance, accountability, and ethical behavior across all institutional operations.
1. Diversity (Chapter XI, Article 10, Section C)
“Persuading or engaging in acts that violate ethics, including morality breaches, sexual harassment or violence, or actions violating religious or social norms within the Foundation/University/Polytechnic environment.”
Explanation: This provision safeguards diversity by ensuring all members of the campus community are protected from discrimination, harassment, and unethical treatment. It creates an inclusive environment where everyone is respected regardless of background, identity, or beliefs.
2. Honesty (Chapter XI, Article 10, Section C)
“Allowing unlawful acts, violations of Company Regulations, or breaches of institutional procedures within the Foundation/University/Polytechnic environment without reporting to the Head of Work Unit or Head of HR Department.”
Explanation: This provision reinforces honesty by requiring employees to report misconduct or violations. It fosters transparency, accountability, and responsible behavior across all academic and administrative operations.
3. Respect (Chapter XI, Article 10, Section C)
“Disclosing, leaking, or failing to safeguard confidential information of the Foundation/University/Polytechnic.”
Explanation: This provision emphasizes respect by requiring employees to protect confidential information. Maintaining privacy and institutional secrets demonstrates professional integrity and respect for colleagues and the university.
4. Fairness (Chapter XI, Article 10, Section E)
“Violating or failing to uphold the applicable institutional code of ethics or professional codes of ethics issued by relevant associations.”
Explanation: This provision promotes fairness by ensuring that all employees are treated equally, their rights are protected, and institutional decisions are applied justly, fostering an equitable and inclusive workplace.
Together, these provisions integrate ethical values into UMN’s inclusiveness framework, ensuring that SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities) is actively implemented while maintaining high standards of transparency, accountability, and good governance.
